Bishwa Shanti Yagya: A Collective Prayer for Peace and Harmony

Published 12 Sep 2026 • Amma • 3 min read

Bishwa Shanti Yagya is envisioned as a collective spiritual and cultural gathering dedicated to the ideals of peace, harmony, compassion and unity. Through sacred recitation, spiritual reflection, intellectual dialogue, cultural expression and community participation, the programme seeks to bring people together around a shared aspiration for a more peaceful society.

At Amma Jonoseba Parisadio Welfare Society, we believe that lasting peace begins not only with institutions and policies, but also with the values we cultivate within our families, communities and everyday lives.

The Spirit Behind Bishwa Shanti Yagya

The Bishwa Shanti Yagya brings together several dimensions of community life — spirituality, knowledge, culture and service.

The recitation of sacred verses and the collective performance of the Maha Geeta Path provide a space for reflection and devotion. Scholarly discussions and intellectual dialogue encourage participants to think about the meaning of peace, harmony and social responsibility.

Cultural programmes add another dimension, celebrating the traditions that connect communities across generations.

The larger purpose is to create an atmosphere where people from different backgrounds can come together, listen to one another and share a common aspiration for bishwa shanti — world peace.

What Impact Can It Create?

The impact of an initiative like Bishwa Shanti Yagya extends beyond the programme itself.

Promoting Peace and Harmony

Collective prayer and reflection can create a shared space for people to express their hope for peace and goodwill.

Encouraging Knowledge and Dialogue

The participation of scholars, intellectuals and distinguished personalities creates opportunities for meaningful discussions around spiritual, cultural and social values.

Preserving Cultural Traditions

Music, dance, devotional songs and traditional forms of expression help keep cultural heritage alive while bringing different generations together.

Strengthening Community Participation

A Shared Aspiration

Bishwa Shanti Yagya is ultimately about a simple but powerful idea: peace is a shared responsibility.

When people come together in prayer, knowledge, culture and service, they create opportunities to strengthen the bonds that hold communities together.

Through this initiative, Amma Jonoseba Parisadio Welfare Society hopes to encourage a spirit of peace, compassion, unity and social harmony — beginning at the community level and carrying that message outward.
